Get an in-depth look at the realities and intricacies of self-employment with long-time freelancer and entrepreneur, Jen Jones Donatelli ’98. Jen will share tips on how to figure out whether self-employment could be a fit for you, and how to set yourself up for success if the answer is a resounding “yes.”

Jen Jones Donatelli is a creativity coach, workshop facilitator, and founder of Creative Groove—a small business offering courses, coaching, and community around the art of creative living. Jen has also taught for schools and organizations including Loyola Marymount University, Ohio University, MediaBistro, StoryStudio Chicago, Literary Cleveland, and more. Prior to her work with Creative Groove, Jen worked in various forms of media and entertainment for nearly 20 years. Her resume spans feature films, award shows, talk shows, sitcoms, red carpet reporting, and print/online journalism for outlets including Glamour, REDBOOK, Business Insider, Playboy, Los Angeles Confidential and many more. Jen is a proud graduate of the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University.

Emma Protsik is the Supervisor of Financial Coaching at Ent Credit Union in Colorado Springs, CO, where she trains credit union staff to assist members in credit building, budgeting, savings goals, and debt repayment strategies. She has her Bachelors of Innovation in Business Finance from University of Colorado, Colorado Springs and is currently attending Creighton University to complete her MBA with an emphasis in Financial Psychology and Behavioral Finance. Emma is a Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC) and a Certified Financial Behavior Specialist (FBS®).

Join OHIO alumnus Zach Horn, BBA ’05, as he discusses financial planning and investment tools to help meaningfully and sustainably grow your wealth. He’ll share strategies for saving in the most tax efficient way and for investing to put your money to work for you. He’ll also share examples of money mindsets and career choices that he has seen lead to greater income and wealth opportunities.
Zach Horn
Zach is the Managing Partner and President of Foster & Motley, a comprehensive wealth management firm located in Cincinnati, OH. In addition to leading the firm, Zach serves clients as an Investment Manager implementing and overseeing customized investment portfolios. Zach has been with Foster & Motley for 16 years and has helped grow the business to now serve over 800 households across 37 states, managing over $2 billion of assets for individuals and families. In 2020, Zach was included in Cincinnati Business Courier’s Forty Under 40 class which recognizes the next generation of leaders and innovators in Greater Cincinnati.
In addition to an undergraduate degree in finance from Ohio University, Zach has an MBA from Xavier University and has earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) designation. Zach has been active with Ohio University as a former president of the Cincinnati Chapter of the Ohio University Alumni Association, former board member and treasurer of the College of Business Society of Alumni and Friends, and board member of the Ohio University Alumni Association.
