The keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Bridget Scanlon, Senior Research Scientist at the University of Texas.

Field Trip: Registration for the field trip is now closed.
Acid Mine Drainage to Paint Pigment Field Trip: 9:30 a.m. – 11:50 a.m. EST, Friday, April 14 (in-person only)

Please join us for a field trip to Millfield, Ohio, to tour the “True Pigments” pilot treatment facility and acid mine drainage discharge. Hear from experts from Rural Action and Ohio University on the history of mining reclamation, technology developed to recover acid mine drainage waste materials, and the process to convert them to a useable product. This tour will also travel to Ohio University’s campus to see first-hand the engineering laboratory used for research and development and the art studio where this waste by-product is transformed into art.
