Get crafty as OHIO alumnae and friends create
no-sew green-and-white fleece blankets that have a touch of Bobcat flair! No
experience is necessary, and all materials will be provided.
All alumnae and friends are welcome to take part in the Akron Association of Ohio University Women's annual community service project, making lap blankets to distribute to families staying at the Ronald McDonald House (RMH) of Akron.
RMH of Akron provides a home-away-from-home to families with children receiving treatment at Akron Children's Hospital. Supplies for the blankets will be provided, but members are encouraged to bring sewing scissors, if they have them.
RMH of Akron also collects pop tabs, recycles them, and uses the proceeds to benefit the House and the families who stay there. Each year, more than $3,000 is raised through the collection and recycling of pop tabs. In addition, the House also seeks the donations of sample-size toiletries (the size provided at hotels) to give to families who stay at the House for unexpected situations. If you have pop tabs or sample-size toiletries to contribute, please bring them as well.
