Join us for the 2017 Washington Policy Forum! This year's forum theme will be "The First 100 Days of the Presidency."

This exciting event will include a panel discussion based around the first month of the Presidency and will also look ahead at the remainder of the first 100 days!

 

Panelists include:

Ray Locker (Moderator) - Washington enterprise editor for USA TODAY, where he supervises the reporters who cover the White House, Pentagon, health care and money in politics. He also coordinates much of investigative work in the organization’s Washington bureau. He has also been the paper’s White House and politics editor and national security editor in the 12 years since joining USA TODAY in 2005. Before joining USA TODAY, he ran the Associated Press bureau in Sacramento and was an editor and reporter at the Los Angeles Times, Tampa Tribune and Montgomery Advertiser. He and his family live in North Bethesda, Md.

Will Drabold - Author of the Navigating Trump's America newsletter, a daily read from Mic on Donald Trump's America. Drabold has worked for Mic from Washington D.C. since August. Prior to that, he graduated in 2016 from Ohio University's Honors Tutorial College with a degree in journalism. A native Athenian, Drabold began working at The Post, Ohio University's student newspaper, as a junior in high school and worked there throughout college. He completed six internships during college, including at Time Magazine and The Seattle Times. He also led coordination of the first Future of Student Media Summit at Ohio University, sponsored by the Knight Foundation. 

Gregory Korte - White House correspondent for USA TODAY, focusing on executive power and the Obama presidency. He previously covered Congress and politics. He is a native of Cincinnati and graduated from Ohio University.

Loren C. Anthes - Joined The Center for Community Solutions in March, 2016, in the position of Fellow, Medicaid Policy Center. Loren has significant public and private experience, and has worked extensively with the legislative and executive branches of state, federal, and local government. Loren comes to CCS from The MetroHealth System, where he served as manager, State and Local Government Relations. He previously worked for The Centers for Families and Children, the Ohio House of Representatives, and the Ohio Medicaid program. Loren has a B.A. in Political Science from Ohio University and a Health Care Masters of Business Administration from Baldwin Wallace University. He currently participates in a number of state and local boards, associations and initiatives in health, advocacy, and the arts.

Rob Painter - An entrepreneur who specializes in technologies and businesses that enhance the U.S. defense and intelligence community. His work history includes Raytheon-Blackbird Technologies, Google Federal, In-Q-Tel and other notable companies. He led the investments that eventually developed into Google Earth and Google SketchUp, as well as helping found his current business, Razor’s Edge Ventures. Painter served 12 years in the U.S. military, and held a number of advisory positions over the decades with the federal government, Department of Defense, and other enforcement organizations. Painter received numerous recognitions over the years including National Intelligence Meritorious Citations and a National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) Hurricane Katrina Directors Award. His service provides international support and improvement to the U.S. defense and intelligence community. Rob has a bachelor’s degree from Ohio University in geography and computer science, and a Master in Engineering Management from George Washington University.

 

There will also be an opportunity to connect and network with the panelists and fellow alumni before and after the panel discussion.
