Charlotte Chapter: Giving Back - Bobcats Volunteer in Local Community
join your fellow Charlotte-area Bobcats this holiday season to volunteer for a
great worldwide cause based right here in our community. We will be partnering
with Samaritan's Feet International, a non-profit organization that seeks:
"To inspire hope through the gift of shoes, the act of washing feet, and encouragement to those who need it most. People without shoes face dangers like laceration, fungus, and insect bites that can lead to infection, disease, and even death. Children with no shoes are often not allowed entrance to education in many countries and can find their way into slavery, or unsafe and inexcusable child labor environments. Since our founding in 2003, Samaritan’s Feet and its partners have distributed over 6.5 million pairs of shoes in 88 countries and 325 U.S. cities."
We will spend the morning of Dec. 2 helping out in the Good Samaritan's warehouse, and each volunteer is simply asked to donate $10, or bring a new pair of tennis shoes with them to donate to help us in our efforts to provide shoes around the world. We encourage you to make this a family event and bring along spouses, siblings, children, etc. Children eight years of age and up are able to participate with a parent or chaperone present.
Please be sure to RSVP for this event, as we will have a limit of 20 participants. All questions can be directed to Nicole Richards!
