Middle Tennessee Chapter: Annual Beat the Heat, Cooler Sort-a-Thon
Come volunteer at Second Harvest Food Bank on Saturday March 3 for our annual "Beat the Heat, Cooler Sort-A-Thon"! Sign up with friends and join us for treats, activities, and some cool Second Harvest giveaways before or after your shift. Volunteers will inspect, sort, and pack frozen food donations in a 40-degree cooler. Dry food sorting shifts will also be available.
Each volunteer shift begins with a brief orientation about Second Harvest and project-specific training. Volunteers will spend the last 30 minutes of each shift cleaning the volunteer workspace, and learning about the impact of their hard work. Please plan on staying for the entire shift.
Attire: All volunteers must wear closed-toed shoes (no sandals or flip flops) and clothes appropriate to work in a warehouse environment. It is also recommended to bring a sweatshirt and long pants in case you are needed to work in the 40-degree cooler.
Please take a moment to RSVP! A Bobcats Give Back t-shirt is included with registration. Provide your size when registering.
Special Instructions: Volunteers under the age of 18 must have the Youth Volunteer Application (PDF)signed by a parent or legal guardian.
Please direct any additional questions to Kate Goethel at email@example.com.
